Attorney Heisler will be out of the country for a portion of November 2025. That being said, should you need something from him in the month of November 2025, we suggest you advise by October 31, 2025 to ensure your November 2025 request are taken care of.
STARTING DECEMBER 2025
Many people have asked about weekend and evening appointments. We listened. Starting in December 2025, we will be offering a couple Mondays a month in person appointment with the last appointment being at 6:00 pm. Also we will be offering a couple Saturdays a month afternoon telephone appointments. Of course these appointments will fill fast.
At this time, we will not be charging extra for these appointments, however we may review the demand and limit these appointments or charge a surcharge in the future or place other restrictions.
YEAR END 2025
Our office will close at NOON on December 24, 2025 for the year and will reopen January 5, 2025. We will be in the office some of the days, however, you will need to leave a message. Clients with hearing dates during these days will be advised how to reach the office.
NEW FOR 2026
We hope to be setting up a way for current (OPEN) clients to set an appointment to meet with your attorney online without the need of using our staff. We are investigating how this could work. We will keep you posted if we are able to offer this in the future. It will require clients to have a current balance. Clients not current will still be required tobook through the office.
PORTAL
In late December 2025 we will be switching over to a new PORTAL system. This system will allow you to send our office documents and will be the new delivery method for our office to send you documents. There will also be a client app for Apple and Andriod users. Our current DropBox will no longer be used for sending our client documents starting 2026. As you are aware, documents we send you via DropBox expire and we will keep DropBox active until the documents expire. This feature will only be available for active matters.
RATES (2026 / 2027)
As you may know, the price of things are going up all over. This means our office can’t avoid price increase from our vendors. It has been a few years since our last rate change and some clients have been grandfathered with lower rates. All clients will have their rates adjusted in 2026/27. We have not yet selected the date for the change or the new rates, but want to advise clients that this is on its way in case you were thinking of having our office do some work for you, it may be better to have the work done sooner than later. Once we have the new rates and effective date, we will advise.
ACH / PAYMENT PLANS
Some of our clients are using an ACH payment plan. The plan charges $1.00 for every payment. While we will continue to support this plan for the near future for clients using this option, changes will no longer be allowed after the last day of November 2025. Starting December 1, 2025, if you want to make a change, you will need to switch to our newest payment plan. While the request to make a change must be signed by the client by the last day of November 2025, the effective date for the change needs to happen no later than the last day of March 2026.
Some of you may wonder why this change. Simple, the current ACH system is not integrated into our software and requires office staff to manually enter the $1.00 charge AND each payment. We have also noticed that if your payment plan results in your payment being first being deposited into your client trust, our new system will not apply trust balances to past invoices. As part of this change, clients that have their ACH payments go into their client trust will be switched to direct payment to their account balance late in 2025. Also, any balances in trust should be transferred to client balances also in late 2025 or early 2026. As part of this change will be to set a end payment date at the time your account is reviewed. Please note if a payment is rejected, you will need to make up this payment. Also new work may require you to be set up with our new payment plan shown below as CLIO PAY
PAY-PAL payment plans, that charge a 5%, fee will also be sunset. Changes will be allowed through the last day of November 2025 and the site for making changes will be removed in December 2025. While we will continue to support this plan for the near future for clients using this option, new payment plan request and changes will be removed from our website in December 2025
We now use CLIO PAY for clients that need a payment plan. The advantage to this plan is there is no fee to use the plan, however late fees apply, thus it is best for the client to pay their balance soon as they can to limit the late fees as it is based on the balance when late fees are added. One advantage to this option is the client can make extra payments to pay off sooner, an option that we have found to be problematic with the plans we are sun setting.
